  • Marshall JCM TSL100 problem

On the rear of the amp is the send/return outputs. Can you use effects pedals with these..or is it only for effects racks?

Hi. Yes you can. The loop level buttons help with using rack or pedal effects. Also remember the loop is parallel/series. Parallel until mix knob is on 10 then it is series.

Your effects loop allows you to add effects to your signal after the pre-amp. Your amp is composed of a pre-amp (small tubes) and a power amp (large tubes). Delays and other similar effects often sound not the best when applied before the pre-amp (between your guitar and the imput of the amp). Parallel means some of the signal is not sent through the loop and goes right to the power amp. The mix knob on the tsl goes from 0 to 10. 0 is no signal thru the loop, 5 half loop half bypassed, 10 all signal goes through the loop - series. I prefer it being on 10 as delays sound best to me that way. By the way, an EQ in the loop of the tsl is also a great way get this thing to sound better especially at low volumes.
