Peavey Bandit 65 volume fade.

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction:
I've got a Bandit 65 that's volume keeps going up and down, and some time sound cuts out completely - the jack and lead seem to be ok, and it happens when the lead is stationary.
I thought it might have been one of the pots, but I wouldn't expect it to to be so erratic.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

You have a preamp out jack and a power amp in jack. COnnect them together with a spare cord. ANy help?

And any control that is noisy while turning can be noisy just sitting there, so clean it.

Turn the reverb down, ball up your fist, and whack the top of the amp hard. Does that affect the problem for better or worse? If it does, that means there is a loose connection or broken solder somewhere inside.
