Know a good 8" speaker??

I need to replace the two 8" speakers in Peavy cab. They are JBL's but have a SERIOUS problem with muted highs and muffled mids. I've looked around quite a bit but the only 8"ers i could find were for PA systems and would probably lack in tone quality. Have any Ideas?

I am replacing the 15" speaker in the cabinet with an eminence Big Ben or Commonwealth 15.

I got this cab for free and it needs some rehab....

Which model of JBL?

I'm not sure, I opened it up about a month ago and rewired everything but it wasnt on their website. This cab is like 20 years old... I'll get back to you though...

Yeah... I know its a bass cab but It's what I got for now. I play Guitar but also a lot of keyboards so The 15"er will help with the lower registers. I did find a 8" though... It's by Jensen Which is a good company so I'll Probably get that one...

I've had a chance to listen to them Jensens (C8R) and they have chimey highs and sparkly mids. Like 'em.

We have used those Gold Label/Red Graphic CR8 speakers from Jensen, and I was impressed with how well they sound. I have one in a Vibro Champ and one in a Valve Jr. Yes the mids and highs are good, but I was surprised how good the bass response was. Bass as it relates to guitar in a low watt guitar amp, but you get my meanining....
