I have an older AVT 150 that has started making a high-pitched whining noise. It is not feedback, but more similar to the effect of plugging an amp into the same circuit that a neon sign is attached to. (Familiar to anyone who ever played a single gig in a dive bar, right?). The sound also seems to oscillate, similar to the tone of a fan ramping up and down.
I have looked for obvious burned out components but cannot see any. I have also tried this amp in several different outlets and the problem persists, so its not coming from the power source.
I see a lot of posts about the TDA7293 chips. Could this be the cause? I am not experiencing volume loss and the sound via headphones is fine.
