  • Traynor fan question

ok, I've got this Bass Master, the fan mounting brackets bent in shipping, now the fan blades are hitting the bottom of the cab, stopped the fan, I think the motor's burnt.

I don't want this to happen again, and I'm pretty sure if I just reshape the original brackets, it will. Seems like a muffin would be a much better alternative to the original fan; at least it's got blade guards, should be more efficient, and probably weighs less.

My problem is mounting it securely. Anybody got any ideas, other than having a custom bracket made? I think it needs to be secured to the chassis by four points, like the original, to minimize the chances of vibration. I'd fasten it to the floor of the head cab, but there's a big vent hole there.

I just made an aluminum L-bracket the width of the fan and bolted the bottom two lugs of the fan to the bracket, then screwed the bracket to the bottom of the cabinet. Seems to be working fine.
