  • Peavey Transtube Envoy 110

I bought a transtube envoy 110 off a buddy the other day and it played great, sounded sick, but it faded out a few times. Played for a while, shut it off, now it has no distortion at all, and i have to turn the volume damn near all the way up to hear any sound at all on either channel. Sometimes it wont play at all. Any ideas what could be going on?

You tried a different guitar and different cable?

This is running straight in, no effects pedals or anything?

When it does this, turn the reverb up midway, and rock the amp back and forth to crash the reverb springs. Does that noise come out loud and strong? or is that also weak and muted?

My first reaction is that the cutout contact on the external speaker jack is dirty. Plug some other speaker into that and see of ot works OK that way.

My second reaction is that Q23 is failing. Or Q6.
