  • BIG amp problem

    So i bought a nice Marshall 1960A 4x12.

I decided to split my cube 60 amp into a head/cabinet version.

The cabinet was successful and only took 5 minutes.

I built a nice black enclousure for the amp.

I just finished wiring speaker out jack and before i screwed the back on i decided to see if it all works.

I plugged everything in to the cube 60 speaker and amp comes on, the output is there, but none of the knobs on the front work. its like there all set at 10 i tihnk.
Same results with the Marshall cab.

Delay and Phaser are on and its driving me crazy.

I cant think of any way anything could have gone wrong.

    Does anyone know anything?

Nifty project - I get the impression that most - or at least certain critical - pots have come disconnected. If that happened just the right way, like losing the grounds in the tone stack and all the volumes, that would work like being dimed. Start by suspecting the solder joints on any 'ribbon' cables between sub-boards.

Lemme dig around for a schematic and see if anything else comes to mind.

      Thanks

I figured it out. It was just a loose ribbon cable, I just pushed it back in and everything was perfect again.

      Heres a couple pics:

Slick little package and, I'd bet a whole lot of versatile.
