Hi cb, welcome to the forum.
You might get better response by starting a new thread instread of tacking onto an old one, especially one that has already been tacked onto.
ANd maybe I am dense, but what are P30s?
At least you want to discharge the caps. Screwdrivers work, but are very hard on the caps. What you want to use is a resistor. SOme guys solder a couple clip wires to a resistor for the purpose. The value is not critical, 1k maybe. (1000 ohms) I use a power resistor like 5-10 watts. I don't need all that wattage, but the resistor is larger and easier to clip onto for me, as well as hold in my hand. SOme shrink tube around your resistor and its conncetions to the wires would be a good idea so nothing touches it inadvertnetly.
Go read through the Music Electronics section here and also the Theory section. Ther is lots of good stiff there, adn referrals to other useful sites.
