  • Laney LV300 Twin Servicing

    Hello:

I finally fixed some random problem on this amp. It used to shut itself down like "no power" but still u got the leds on from the channel switching feature.

I've replaced components and did a full check-up to the powerboard fixing a lot of things.

    The laney service manual quotes:

    Offset Adjust
"measure voltage across LS- and LS+ and set it to 0 volts". I assume LS +/- are the speaker output lines.

When i first powered the amp up after servicing i was getting around .215 mv that went down to .150 mv after adjusting it.

    Bias Adjust.

"measure voltage across Testpoint 1 and Testpoint 2 until you get 20 mv"

I was getting 14 mV on those test points but i wondered if it was set "low" on purpose since this amp had problems in the past "random noises" that the local dealer did not fix.

One of the STK transistors gets a bit hotter than the other one . I assume one is dissipating more power than the other. (probably they are not matched transistors)

So are those like "healthy values" for this amp?

I'll attach the schematic so you can have a peek.

    Thanks in advance!
