Help: DSL401 & Effects Pedals Fried from Bad Electricity?

Please help.

Plugged in my amp last night at gig (some old joint with a questionable power outlet) and the guitar instrument plug arched when plugged into amp - with what looked like 110v. Amp power light comes on but just hums and Boss effect pedals are lit up but do not respond when foot switch is engaged.

Q: Has anyone ever seen this happen? Can amp & pedals be fixed?

Also, both fuses on back of amp were ok.

For sure , you need to take the amp to a tech.
The pedal is probably toast.

Thanks. thats what I thought, i'll take the amp apart to see if there are any fuses inside that are blown.

lesson learned? always be suspiciuos of old electrical outlets, test them first.

I did use a surge protector with a fuse. the power crossed must have crossed over to the ground.

Damage:
gig paid: $100
amp repair:$500
toasted boss effects pedals: $800
total loss=$1200+

Its a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll!

I don't know about $500 to fix the amp.
It is basically "all" tubes.
There are a few transistors for channell switching & such.
Which Boss pedal do you have?

Before anything else I would have the amplifier inspected.
So what do you think the house wiring was the problem ?
If the third leg ground connector was "hot", which would be the amps chassis ground, the owner has a real problem.
I am not a litigation freak, but it seems to me that you are due some recompence if that is the case.
At the least, the fire marshall should be made aware, as this problem, if that is what it is, is going to end up killing somebody.

The owner of the joint was notified, but was not taking any responsibity.

The other power outlets worked fine.
