Epiphone Valve Junior v#3 No mods.Replaced the stock tubes with 1 JJ ECC83 S Gold Pins and 1 JJ EL84 about 7 months ago,the head sounded great until 3 days ago,When the amp is switched on, there is NO NOISE for about 2 minutes, then a loud roaring kicks in,this roaring lasts about 50/60 seconds, then stops completely, from then on the amp performs flawlessly, this roaring only happen on start up.Here's the weird part, the roaring does NOT come through the speaker,it comes from the head only.
When this first started I thought, speaker problem, NOT!I unplugged everything and just plugged the power cord in,switched it on,and as stated above the roaring kicks in at the head. Any ideas what causes this?

Are you sure you don't have a Gold Lion tube ? That would be my guess?

Do you have the original tubes ?
          Or a spare set.
I would try swapping out the tubes one at a time.
Can you pinpoint where the noise is coming from.
Or at least which area of the chassis.

I'll the tube swap as you suggested, also I'll remove the chassis(hadn't thought of that)and switch it on,that should tell me where the roaring is coming from.

                Roaring Update.
Removed chassis from cab,set chassis on work bench, plugged in power cord, switched on and waited for roaring to kick in,roaring DID NOT KICK IN,switched off, plugged in speaker cab and guitar, still NO roaring, switched off, unplugged all, installed chassis back into cab, plugged all back in,switched on,NO roaring(I'll be damned),now that the tubes are warmed up,I'll have to let it sit over night(roaring only happens at first start up,once roaring is gone,I'm good for the rest of the day)Now for some possibilites-
1)Chassis just sits in cab(not fastened down)could the 4 large metal screws that hold the chassis in be at fault? being that they make contact with the chassis.
2)Power cord plugged into different wall socket?
                3)Unknown.
Just when I finally get some help with this amp problem,I can't get the damn thing to malfunction, much like my guitar playing,I'll do a great BB King riff alone, but when I want to show it off in front of everybody I'll have it all screwed up.

I caught the innuendo(Gold Lion Tube=Roaring) at your first post,I did not think your first post rated a response, but since you have responded a second time with a smily,my response to you is "MAY THE BIRD OF PARADISE FLY UP YOUR NOSE".

Next time, just play the riff.
                    Let it roll.
Nobody likes a showoff anyway, right?
