I built a Marshall 1986 clone a few years ago. Everything seemed to work fine. It was gigged a few times with no problem. I just recently noticed that the volume does not go all the way "off" on the Normal Channel. It (the volume) does go all the way off on the Bright Channel. I am getting ready to pull the chassis and measure a few things, like the Volume Pots for example.
I am wondering if it is possible to solve this problem via the schematic. Both Volume Pots effect both channels. When plugged into the Bright channel, with that volume pot on Zero, you can still get a little volume from the amp by turning up the Normal Channel volume. The opposite is also true when plugging into the Normal Channel. With that on Zero, you can still get a little volume by turning up the Bright Channel.
So, I am just curious, how would you guys trouble shoot this one. What do I see on the schematic that explains this.?
Thank You
