  • Need help with a Fender Stage 160

    Hey guys,

Found your forum while doing and have have been lurking from some time now. I need some help with my amp. Its a fender stage 160 and this thing is LOUD!!! It has been ever since I have owned it. Now when I say loud I dont mean loud like cranked up to 10 I mean I cant even turn the thing past 2 or it is just too damn loud. Like crazy feedback make your ears bleed loud. Is this normal or is there something up? I always have this set at about 1 and it is still plenty loud for full band practice in my basement. I would love to get this fixed to where it is more user friendly. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is it too loud on both channels or just one (clean and/or distorto channel)?

These amps are made for LOUD. If you're playing in your bedroom or in church, the volume can be hard to control.

In my son's we have a voltage divider in the effects loop to tame it down a bit. This is the same thing as the "Volume Box" people sell on eBay except it doesn't have a knob on it.

Look here: ATTENUATOR FOR FENDER HOT ROD/BLUES DELUXE/DEVILLE/TWIN - eBay (item 200559935674 end time Feb-28-11 04:52:09 PST)
