Thought I would post again. I need some help with a low output problem.
I build a 6V30 and have been through everything over and over again and now I am thinking a component is at fault. My Voltages look great to my eyes. Power section & rec is perfect and I think V1-V6 is good to. I am having low output issues. the amp is just not as loud as it should be. i would say about half on all channels. It runs quiet maybe does not sound as good as it should either.
Could it be possible that Mercury sent me a bad O transformer or could have a bad sozo cap? I have thought about subbing my weber transformer I have laying around to find out.
Here are the voltages for V1-V6. I also noticed that sec c or 2 (via sch) of the can cap is reading 235 volts on the sch it should be 290. The others are 1=335 3=298 4=298 and before the 22k resistor leading to section two is also inline with all the others. When I disconnect the leads from section c or 2 the voltage jumps up to 298 from 235. This is the section that connects to the Vib/Trem I believe. Is this voltage drop okay or do I have a problem?
Here are pin voltages for the pre amp section. Power section and rec I am familiar with and they look great. The preamp and PI concern me. I am pulling my hair out with this one and I have put a lot of time and money in it. I build careful neat and I take my time but I am lost.
Please take a look.
