SVT4-pro question

I have a " free" SVT4-pro, the usual fried B side mainboard problem . I have no interest in repairing the amplifier section, I would like to use the preamp in my studio.

I have disconnected the power to the amp board and get signal through "preamp out " A & B but no eq/ compression or gain control. Mute, pad & line out level are the only front panel controls having any effect , I've tried every switch combination on the back. Tubes are working.

Should I expect full function of the pre amp with the amp section powered off internally ?

Judging from the block diagram, you should have all controls functioning on the Post EQ Out.
Make sure that this switch is engaged.
There very well could be somethi9ng wrong with the preamp.
