  • GMX212 Doenst record my presets!

This is my first post, but i see that this forum is a great one for the amount of threads existing and the fast responses, im amazed...well my problem is that my Behringer GMX212 doesnt remember my presets, it used to work well, but now when I press the IN/OUT button to record a preset into the memory of the respective channel it doesnt do anything, so, when I change the channel, the effect is still activated, so for example, in Channel 1 i have a clean tone with the 34 effect deactivated, and in Channel 2 I have a distorted tone with preset 94 activated, lets say that I am in channel 2, when I change the channel (via the foot pedal or the button in the amp) Ii change to channel 2 BUT with preset 94 and activated!! it used to work well, tha only thing i did odd was yesterday connecting an pair of earphones in the back of the amplifier, and today when i turn it on, appears like this, well. that should be the problem number 1, the one that bothers now, because the other problem, its not a great problem I think, but sometimes (just sometimes) when I turn the amp, after 5 or 10, sometimes 30 secs, a noise like an explosion appears, and then all normal, with the volume up I think that the noise like an explosion is louder too...well I didnt experimented with that yet because its not an always problem, apart of that I think its a great amp sorry for my bad english, im from Bolivia I hope you understand all, thank you so much for your help...greetings!

Look in your owners manual for something like "restore factory settings" or "reinitialize" or other similar sounding master memory reset.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

The function of this amps presets is most probably driven by a microcontroller.
Microcontrollers typically take an input & will process that input to arrive at an output.
It is highly unlikely that only one function will not work as far as the microcontroller is concerned.
So maybe the MC is not getting the input.
You may want to get the switch/ switch circuit checked.

Thank you so much jazz P Bass....well i'm intern of medicine , so my knowledge of electronic es very, very (VERY) basic..jaja but I will tell a friend that knows more of it to help me, well Jazz P Bass, is teher anything else that can help miy friend to do the Switch/switch circuit check? or will he understand with that? amm, other thing, I tried the other functions, and all of them seems to be all right, the change of effects, and the functioning of them, as well as the change on the parameters of them and the on/off button do its function ok (is the same button that used to save the asignment of effect to each channel ) well, I will tell my friend, as soon as I have something I will reply....thank you so much, this is a great community...thanks!!

If that specific button works on other functions, it is probably not the switch.
In that case it may be a memory retention problem.
            Or a microcontoller comunication problem.
This may be a pretty involved repair.
If there is an issue with the microcontroller you will not be able to find a replacement.
This is where if you have the luxury, you swap out boards.
