  • VOX VC4 Foot Controller for Valvetronix (broken bus jack)

    Hello again,

Can anyone tell me where I can find a replacement "ethernet" (Vox bus) jack for this foot switch? I can see that it is a more compact design and then the usual ones and what I find in PC stores won't seem to fit. Or maybe the small daughter board that it attaches to?

I contacted the VOX website but the couldn't help me with ordering a suitable replacement.

Anyone came across a resource online for these??

    Thanks again!

A Vox dealer or maybe a place like marshallparts.com should be able to order? Generically I think it is a JM38118-LO, Korg USA shows the part number as N001048.

Have you looked for it is Mouser, Digikey, et al?

I checked marshallparts.com and nothing found.
I plugged those numbers above and no ethernet style jack came up.

I'm thinking of rigging it our somehow with a generic one. But that might take widening the hole in the case. What do you think?

        Isn't it a typical RJ45 socket - PCB mounted, low profile? Something like this: Digi-Key - WM5414-ND (Manufacturer - 95001-2881) ?
        Can you post a photo?

That is the thing to do, sit down with the Mouser paper catalog and leaf through the connectors page by page. Doubtful the connector was anything custom made just for them.

The original socket has broken off. The only part that remains is part of the black plastic base and the pins which are mounted closer to the board instead of above. (opposite of the one pictured that you sent me).

I'll keep looking through their website. I've never purchased from them before.

What about measuring the remainings and comparing the measurements with the datasheet available from Digi-key?

I've been searching and so far I found this to visually look the same layout wise. The datasheet on there seems to be generic as the same one shows up for multiple jacks I found.
