I bought this amp a couple of weeks ago and it is a great amp, very simple but good sound. what I am wondering is, (not being to technically minded) how do you determine what the mid frequency of an amp is. I would like a mid of 700 to 800Hz. is it possible to change the frequency or even add a shift control.

What do you mean by mid frequency? The least attenuated frequency with all controls at 50%?

Isn't that what the 7 band eq is for?
Set all controls at the middle postion.
Then move the 660Hz control up (Peak Filter) & then down (Notch Filter).

The one you have is an early model, very simple yet good sounding.
The tone controls are "Fendery", passive, very interactive, and do not control tone in the way you are imagining.
What do you need?
Increase mids for, say, a "fingerstyle friendly" sound or decrease them for a more "modern/slappy/punchy" sound?
Personally, I would leave it as is.
