Ampeg BA115 input jack issues

Hello I found this forum while surfing looking for an answer to a problem I am having with my BA115 input jack.

If I insert an instrument cable into the jack and I play a note on my bass there is no noise unless I "wiggle" the instrument cable where it enters the chassis(I have tried several cables and they are definitely not the problem). everything else works fine, I have been using the -15db input with no trouble but I would like the boom to come back.

I am completely new to amp repair but am comfortable enough with soldering and I am wondering if it would be hard to fix myself, and if not how would I go about finding replacement parts.

Well. you have either a solder issue or a jack issue.
Resoldering the jack would be the first step.
Look closely at the solder pads. If they are torn away from the board you will have to make the connection with a piece of wire to wherever the trace goes to.

I've had 2 of these amps in the passed month..one with blown out devices even the speaker got a good frying.. the second one act's up now and then, it power dips then regains power...

I had to fit a fan to cool to the o/p stage, them power drop 330 ohm 10w with all that glue crap round them heat up.. watch out for the op-amps acting odd replacement is needed there. this amp is rated @210w with a 50w tweeter and limiter fuse circuit.

well I looked at the board over this weekend and the jack has not broken away from the board so I am assuming the jack is faulty and I'll order one in the comming week.
@plec.22 aside from the jack issue I have had little problems with this amp, the only other problem being the RCA jack gives horrible static, but I don't use it anyway. I can definitely see all that glue crap in there causing some heating problems tho.

Yeah, but, did you resolder the jack?

@Lordedubs. reflow the pre-amp and power amp board..your notice two 5w zener's on the pre-amp board with the slight burnt marks that's because there to close to the pcb and needs raised off the board to get some air flow about them and same goes for the 10w 330 ohm resistors that get a little hot... The ht is 60v +/- dc so these resistors are dropping 45 volts! for the simple pre-amp front reg circuit. All that glue crap is not needed remove it...

The bias for the out put stage is set across r72 and r75 .33 ohm resistors at 15 to 20 mv with no signal or speaker connected plus clean all the tone and level pots has well...
