    You mean plugging an open cable into the pre out jack? Everything related to that jack is there for both channels, so aside from the cable acting as an antenna, I don't know how this is possible.
    The schematic I have used the Q designation for transistors, not TR. Can you post the schematic you are using?

      JM you know you have a point about possible reverb tank issues but I've seen a lot of these in my time for various reasons and what's going on here is way outside of normal for these.both tanks check normal. also eliminated tank wires.no something in the switching is amiss.

        Ok, then you'll have to go stage by stage , on both channels and the loop and reverb sub circuits too, trying to find where does the noise appear.

        At least you have a somewhat smaller area to check since the input jack mute kills it, not a bad start.
