Peavey Transformer 212 knob problem

I have this magnificent Peavey Transformer 212, it just has a small issue.

The program Knob, which cycles around my stored configurations, stopped working.
It has this ring of LEDs around the knob and on the one it's active it's lighted, and before the problem, if i turned the knob it cycled, now it doesn't happen.

Randomnly it works, randomnly it stops doing so. And if it works is for only 2 or 3 steps.

What can I do?

It could be dirty, needing cleaning. It could have cracked its solder and is now losing its connection to the rest of the system. Something could have smacked the shaft and pushed out the back of the control, or even cracked it.
