  • Peavey Classic 20 transformer question

I have a Peavey Classic 20 from the UK, for 240V mains supply. Can this be retrofitted for 110V use? I tried an external step up transformer and it was awful.

Call Peavey customer service, I'm sure they will have the correct US transformer. Probably not all that terribly expensive either. (I doubt that particular export transformer was tapped for 110 use but I could be wrong)

I have e-mailed Peavey to see what they say. Does anybody happen to know what the output voltages should be?

        Peavey Classic 20 Schematic

        Here is the schematic.
The Plate Voltage has a 500 volt capacitor.
The B++ caps are rated at 450 volts.
The voltages are not listed on the schematic but going from the caps, lets ballpark the plate at 425-450 volts.
Your best bet is to call Peavey.
First thing in the morning seems to be the best time.
PHONE: 877-732-8391(toll free) Ask for tech support.
They can give you the voltages & the transformer part number.

Call Peavey, they are swamped with emails so you may not get a reply to your email.
