Hey reposting about an old post Hiwatt L50R buzzzzz. So I am stumped . The latest is I have checked all coupling caps in the second stage V2 and all are good. I have removed the wire that supplies the signal to VR10 which is the master control volume and the buzz is still there. When I ground T2 on VR10 the buzz is still there when I ground the wiper the buzz is gone. So sounds like it is in the V2 area but how come when I disconnect the signal from VR10 the buzz is still there? The buzz I should also note is only present about 5 to 10 on the volume control. It gets quiter at 10 but is still there. Here is the schematic of the pre-amp stage it is really all that is available. http://drtube.com/schematics/hiwatt/hwpre4.gif . I am about a click away from just taking it in to get repaired but want to see if anyone has any last suggestions.

Just a candid thought. Are you hoping we will go find the old thread, read through it, then come up with different answers here than we did there?Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Well my job requires me to leave the country at times and when I left and came back I was old news so to speak. Everyone stopped responding so I had to start another one to get back up in the list so I didn't get lost in "old posts". Stop with the candid thoughts I was just starting to gain some respect for you after reading a response you put up recently in soap box under the subject of Wisconsin politics. It would be nice if you had a candid thought about my amp. I did what you said in the old post which is basic troubleshooting. This situation I feel is what the electronics geeks call a "tough dog". Also after tearing the amp apart and still drawing my own schematic because the crummy one is not right as far as signal goes after V2b I discovered I was wrong in what I said in my new post. VR10 is not feed from the tone stack which the schematic shows. VR6 goes to those 2 resistors which are 220K stops by a 470k that goes to Send jack and then into the relay. VR10 is feed from the Return/Send that is why the buzzzzz is still there. Still trying to figure it out though, now stop wasting bandwidth with candid thoughts and help me if you please I'm obviously not a wise sumo wrestler that enjoys sking like your self. PS I'm off the ripple.
