I know that I said that I wasn't interested in doing any mods to this amp but I will go ahead and do the ones that you outlined. If ever I wanted to put it back to stock condition later on(for whatever reason), I will save the original parts.
BTW, I've been looking at the schematic for the AB 568, which looks a LOT like what's in my amp, the rectifier tube on this schematic actually is a 5U4(which is what's in my amp now) and not a GZ34, which is what's listed on my tube chart but the AB 568 Layout shows a GZ34! Man, it sure takes a lot of digging around to get to the bottom of things sometimes!
