I'm going to be building a vibroclone out of a '69 Super Reverb chassis. Of course, it requires a 2-ohm speaker load and I'm using a 15" Weber California which is 8 ohms. I read all the time how a blackface Twin Reverb OT will work since you would only be using the two 6L6s and because of that it would now want to "see" 8 ohms instead of the normal 4. Heyboer makes a replacement Twin OT that has multiple taps. My question is this- would I use the 8-ohm tap or the 4-ohm tap?

You would use the 4-ohm tap, but since you're replacing the transformer anyway, why not just get one that's intended for two 6L6 instead of four?-tb

I see your point but the Twin OT seems to be popular for Vibroclones because of the amount of iron. Some people are using Bassman OTs. I see that the the Heyboer is a 2100-ohm. That must be why you would use the 4-ohm tap.
