  • Replacent reverb tank for Silverface Bandmaster Reverb?

I have an old Bandmaster Reverb head (First year silverface, I believe); unfortunately when it can into my possession it was with out it's reverb tank. I'm looking for a replacement tank, but unfortunately I can't find the specs of the original tank, and the accutronics site doesn't list which models are the equivalent for tanks from this amp or that. Can anyone point me to where I can look up the specs (impedance, length, # of springs) of the tank that originally came in this amp? Obviously there's a lot of info about this amp on the web, but no specs on the tank.

I was going to go with an accutronics tank just because they're the name I'm most familiar with, but if anyone has a suggestion as to another brand, I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks!

Fender used the same pan on most of their tube amps. Since it is driven by the little transformer, it will be a low impedance drive, hence an "AB" type. You can mount any pan size you want, the original would have been a long one. the 4AB2C1B most likely - the 2-spring, but the 3-spring 9AB2C1B would be fine. the three spring won't give you more reverb, but it will give a more complex reverb sound. Not a huge difference, either one will make the amp sound Fendery.

Accutronics was bought by Belton, so pick one from those two and you get something similar. I have seen newer brands coming along, but can;t say how they hold up yet. The same base number type usually translates brand to brand.

Most places that sell reverb pans list some brands next to each type.
