  • Pulled out preamp tube from working amp - possible damage?

    Hi!

By accident a friend of mine pulled out a preamp tube from the amp which was working. He immediately switched off the amp but would that cause any damage to it?

    Regards, Andy

Don't be tempted to install a tube in an amp that's turned on. You might plug it in wrong, or touch one of the pins while there is high voltage there. Also be careful when pulling tubes, even if the amp is off....high voltage may still be present because of the capacitors. Don't touch the tube pins while the pins touch the socket.

Diablo, I am not tepted to do that for sure . A friend of mine simply pulled out the tube by accident and asked if he had caused any damage to the amp/ It actually plays normal, but we wanted to be sure
