  • Carvin PB900 transistors

Does anyone know what a good replacement transistor is for a MTH15N20 MOSFET? It is a TO-218 package. The guy tin foiled the fuse and took out half of the output devices.

    Thanks!

Nothing to lose, call Carvin and ask them if they have a substitute they would use.

Mouser shows an NTE2376 replacement for this obsolete MOSFET. Also ST Microelectronics STW30NF20, which is a non-stocked item.

How about an IRFP250? Same voltage, current, dissipation, and on resistance.

And NTE crosses it to the same 2376, so they just MUST be the same thing...

Um... mine was a question, rather than a suggestion. I don;t know if it is a good sub or not, MOSFETs are not my strong suit. And the NTE remark was tongue in cheek. SEEMS like it ought to work, but...

Yes, I know you asked a question. I took it as a suggestion and checked it out. The IRFP250 looks like it should work, it seems to be a slightly higher power version of the MTH15N20.

Yes, I got the NTE joke too. I hate having to resort to that stuff.

The equivalents that I was coming up with on the web were all obsolete parts, so I decided to ask here.

Thanks so much for your suggestion!
