Fender Frontman 212R Popping/Crackling

Hey all. I bought a brand new Fender Frontman 212R about 2 years ago. For about the last 2 weeks, it's been making this crackling noise then a sudden and loud POP (very loud). I've switched guitars and cables and the result is the same. Can anyone offer up any advice for me? Thank you in advance.

Yes, use your 5 year warranty, and let Fender fix it. Find the authorized Fender shop closest to yiou and take it there, along with "proof of purchase."


Try this, ball up your fist and whack the top of the amp. Does that cause it to make the sounds? If so, ther is a loose connection inside.

And as a tech, the first thing I suspect inside is cracked solder to the main filter caps.

Yeah I tried hitting it to see if that caused it, but oddly it doesn't. Thanks for the tips.
