Another thing you can try: turn it up a bit more till you have 12.5V output, and see how it looks on the scope. Seems to me Fender usually specs. 5% distortion on their power output figures. I don't have a distortion meter, but I believe at 5% distortion the waveform will already be flattening a slight amount.
