  • vtm heater voltage way too high

hello, i am new to posting on this forum but have learned alot from searching it. i have a peavey vtm 60 and made a second channel (pretty much just copied soldano slo schem) using the fx loop tube, hooked up to a regular dpdt flip switch. sounded great, then searching around i found it supposedly is possible to install a relay/footswitch for channel switching. so i tried to follow the plans, accidently shorted out the heaters in the process. heaters gone. put in a new 8 amp fuse, heaters back but now but heater to ground reading 60vac?! ive got 120vac back of power switch. not blowing fuses. clips dont look burnt. the 2 6l6s get way hot, 1st 12ax7 ok but tubes progressively get hotter towards phase inverter. both sides of 4k7 r10 resistor before heater clip read the same as heaters. i adjusted hum balance pot, no change. i dont think anythings touching something it shouldnt. any ideas would be appreciated.

Look at the schematic. The heaters are referenced to some positive voltage through CR6 and R10. Offhand I don;t know what that voltage is, but flip your meter to DC volts and see what you get. Oh, and make sure you didn;t blow fuse F3 when this all happened.
