  • B-52 AT-212 Combo Question

I have a B-52 AT-212 combo amp since 2008 and I haven't used it in over a year. I tried using it the other day but no sound comes out of it. The amp is turned on and volume is up but nothing, not even the usual hum you hear when you fire up an amp. Anybody have any possible suggestions what could be wrong? The cable coming out of the back of it isn't connected to anything, is it supposed to be? Thanks

If you mean the 1/4" male phone plug that sticks out of the hole, then yes, it's supposed to be plugged into the one of the female phone jacks marked "loudspeaker output". Set the "impedance select" switch to 8 ohms. Trying to run the amp without this jack plugged in correctly or at the wrong ohm setting can damage it badly.
