  • Randall RG80-112sc Channel Bleed

I have a Randall Combo from the early 80's that has a channel bleed. I used to have one back then also and had to take it into the shop to have it worked on they were aware of the problem. Now that music store is gone and I can't seem to find anyone that knows any thing about it so I thought I worth I would try here. Any help would be great. Even a point in the right direction would be appreciated. Randall (Washburn) did not have any info on any fix on the amp. All they have is the Schematic.

Maybe someone here will know but if not stay tuned as I have one in the shop I just haven't got to it yet. bleeding would be of course some type of isolation problem if it's opto-isolators they could very well be the problem or even a connection could cause it. Stay tuned

I have one of these too. You have to have the switch pedal plugged in, in order for that not to be the case. Those amps ha a very crappy 6 prong connector for the A/B switch. I’d say that your problem is either that you don’t have that A/B switch box hooked up, or there is something wrong with where it connects to the amp.

(UPdate) Found some new Info on fix.

I spoke to some old school guy @ Randall pre Washburn and he told me about a PCB to install to fix this problem that mounts in the Amp itsself. it has about 13 componets on it. It was very easy to build and etch the board. and IT WORKS ALSO! Also removed minor HUM from amp.

          Tim,
I have one of these Randall RG80 amps. Can you get any details on this PCB that you are referring to?

Please, PLEASE let us know where to get the info on that little board...I just unpacked a "pretty good condition" RG80SC 5 minutes ago and it needs a little help, but other than that, it seems pretty awesome!

any info would be so VERY much appreciated..
