Hi everybody,
I am having some issues with an older velocity 300 power-amp. i bought it used in non working order and had no idea it was gonna be this much of a pain to trouble shoot.
after i took out the tin-foil that was stuffed in the fuse holders , yep tin foil! i noticed a few problems -50vdc everywhere and several resistors started smoking R5,6,10,11,28,29 C46,,47 U9,10.... you get the idea.
so to make along story longer after some help from some members at FSB i built a current limiter replaced all known bad parts and began testing only to find more bad parts.. i believe Q13,17,35,31 are also bad "read 5 ohms in any direction" and i wont have replacements for a day or so, but i decided to try testing anyway. another bad idea I'm sure. but so far nothing is blowing up but i did notice Q22 is extremely hot . always was as far as i can remember, but cant figure out why. any help is greatly appreciated
