Had this for a while - flea market, $5.00 - it works fine and the manual was available free online. It just occurred to me, this should work to form or re-form caps in the leakage test mode Right?

I have one. It puts actual - though low current - high voltage across the cap and tests for leakage. I guilt mine from a kit 40+ years ago. Before I learned to read color codes well, I used it a lot to measure cap values. And with a extrnal comparison part, you can measure inductances.

I am not a big believer in forming caps, but i suppose it would work. Watch the magic eye with a fresh cap and see what happens.

I tried it this afternoon and it seems to work. I've been using it to test things for a few months now and it seems to work pretty well. I should probably re-cap it though as it looks all original. Not too bad for $5.00 !
