GK Backline 210 DC Fan not working...

So I have this bass amp sitting around and debating between putting an AC fan in it or not. The 24V fan is not turning on at all in the amp. There was 24 volts measured at one point but now it is not measuring anything. I plugged that fan into a 12V feed and it turns on and works and I tried a new 24V fan w/ no luck. I researched the GK line up and found that some amps have fans that turn on at some point when the heat sensor is activated. As far as I can tell on this model the fan is supposed to be on all the time. I can't find any schematic either to trouble shoot the circuit board.

So, one question is if I install a 110v ac fan will it be ok if the voltage it is getting is at 120vac?

Another question is what might lead me to a solution to get the DC fan working? Is this common? I have read some things on this sight about the GK RB400 or RB600, but it's fan had a heat sensor that triggered it on.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated, thanks!

Have you contacted GK??? I met the owner once (matched a custom paint color for his home). He seemed like a nice guy. Maybe it's a nice company. You don't get anything if you don't ask! A schematic would make it emminently easier to troubleshoot the power supply for the fan.

BTW, why did you try another fan if the old fan worked and you weren't reading any voltage to power it???

I would be more inclined to repair the system as it is rather than install a peripheral system. It's hard to say if the fan's power supply failure won't cause other stresses.

Yeah I think I will contact GK tomorrow... Read earlier that they are really cool but to have all the serial numbers ready to read over to them...

I had the original fan and had measured roughly 24v. The fan was not working. I then took the fan off and plugged it in on a computer and it worked. I had another 24v fan that definitely was working. When I tried to measure voltage later it was not reading anything. I thought the original fan might not be working at the 24v but could still function at 12v.

Yeah that's is my sentiment on that too. Thanks for the advice.

If I had another fan on hand I would have tried it too. It just read funny. I hope GK is helpful. It's probably a simple fix with the schematic.
