  • Fender GDEC Jr

Have a GDEC Jr here thats popping the F2 fuse. The F1 fuse is ok.

I tested the PT secondaries before pulling the pcb - voltages look normal

There are 4 diodes right after F2 that test ok (in circuit) . I will pull each and check those out of circuit.

Not seeing anything discolored / burnt .

Any suggestions looking at the schematic ?

That link doesn't work, try this: http://music-electronics-forum.com/a...9-g-dec-jr.pdf
I think blown F2 fuse is why many of them (early ones at least) got thrown in the dumpster/warranty replacement. What was the value of the blown fuse? That is the board mount picofuse correct? The ones I repaired had .5A slow blow picofuse, which was a little undersized with 125VAC line voltage. I installed .75A slow blow and have never had a problem. I see the schematic shows it as 1A, perhaps they corrected the problem.
If yours has a 1A, as well as checking the diodes, check the 5V regulator.

Yep , this one has the 500ma board fuse. I did try a 630ma and it blew. I will try a 1A and the other stuff , thanks

Make sure it is slow blow/time delay type.
