    Hi
I have been given a Peavey XR 600E and its fuse is blowing on powering up. I am not experienced in diagnosis of problems but when i know the problem i can usually fix it so could someone tell me where to start looking for the fault and what i am looking for?
    cheers

    Welcome.

When an amp blows fuses there are two things that are the first things to check, power output transistors and power supply diodes. It doesn't mean that that is your problem, but in maybe 90% of the cases it comes down to one of those two things.

What sort of test equipment do you have? Do you have a lamp limiter?

Search the forum for a copy of the schematic or call Peavey directly and request one and then post it here.

      thanks for the guide.
my test equipment only consists of a multimeter. Is this enough to locate the faulty part or do i need a Lamp Limiter?
      cheers

Multimeter is enough, the limiter might help save you from damaging new parts when you power up the amp for the first time after repairs.
