  • Behringer B312

Yes, another Behringer. It's a Eurolive B312. This thing has not woofer output. "high out" is working. With my signal tracer I get signal before L1 but not after. L1 is the inductor that filters out the Class D noise before the woofer. I measure 170k DC resistance across it and about 160mH. The schematic states 57uH. Anyone think that it's bad from these measurements? Ever seen this problem?

Hi Lowell, the DC resistance of that inductor should be less than an ohm. Looks like it's shot.

I agree, I can't imagine any output coil with a resistance of 170K. Try replacing it.

wow, ok. Thanks! Now for finding one. I emailed Music Group for it but not sure they'll have one.

It's just a coil of wire, check to see if one of the ends is broken or if there is a cold solder joint.

You're right. I figured since I wasn't getting OL on the meter that it was indeed connected. But there is most likely a parallel path that the meter is seeing.

Usually one end has broken off from the board. If nothing else, you might try unwinding one turn - if it at the outside end - and using that extra lead length for the repair. We might be able to come up with one, if it is not salvagable

Thank you. Is was indeed broken. Not visible til I pulled it off the glue. I scraped the coating off the lead on the broken end. Soldered bus wire to it, filed a U shape into the side and got it fit right back in. Added a fair amount of glue gun glue to keep it on the board.

Yep, had replaced the mosfet driver to this thing cause had no signal ON its output, and after repairing the induction It's all fixed.
