I wouldn't buy an amp with an mp3 player built in because it seems goofy and unnecessary...but maybe some people would love it. I like simple straightforward amps with a minimum of extra stuff.

J M Fahey : Thanks but you are underestimating me a little I have built dozens of these 1/2W amps, effects and even something that from the veeery long distance looks like Vox amPlug, but my problem is, that all of these things were working on DC. And PCB design won't be worst for me I like these kind of things, it's a really good brain-storming for me

imaradiostar : Yeah, that's just matter of opinion.

I think an MP3 port would be something for a practice amap like the MG15 series. But I can't imagine one on a $1500 amp because I doubt the players with those amps would need it. Like a built in baby seat on a Ferrari, what Ferrari owner would need one?

That is why the practice amps have "CD" inputs. You could plug a CD player in there to hear while trying to learn a song. An MP3 is just the more recent equivalent of a CD player. I don;t use one, but doesn;t a MP3 have a jack for an output cord? Can't we get an adaptor cord for the phones jack to connect to the CD inputs?

As soon as you add USB and other digital circuits to an amp, you now need additional power supplies for the different voltages, you need digital circuitry to support it.

And as to moving songs from computer to MP3, why would we need to put the amp in between them? They connect directly already.

MP3 ports are readily available in DJ equipment. DJs are moving to MP3s or even just computers with their music. NO discs to carry or lose or damage or get stolen.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Well, I have to play it safe
And my suggestions for a modern version opf "Lead 12" stay.
            Killer amp.
All it needs is a good speaker.
