Don't worry guys, you are in good company, my own forehead bleeds because I slap it so often and so hard
Here we have a parallel saying "me quiero pegar un ladrillazo en la nuca" meaning "I want to hit (hard) the back of my head with a brick" !!!! go figure.

To paraphrase the song, "I'll triple that emoticon". So, not only is there a bad heater connection to V3, but as Mr.Fahey noted the footswitch or footswitch jack also has a problem. (footswitch jack tip must be grounded for trem. to operate)

I almost fell out of my chair laughing!!! I'll stick with the forehead slap. More chance to retain enough cognative skills that I'll need to slap it again some day.

Now I want to hear from Trem that the problem has been totally fixed.
I hope we get that news before someone else joins in and suggests that the output transformer needs to be replaced,
          Tom

That deserves a Face Palm AND a Smiley.
            Yes, it is working.
Just needed a new set of heater wires (an hour job on this thing) to the Trem Tube. Will just call this a lesson learned.
IMO, this amp is every bit as "good" as a Twin. Just a bit different of course.
Was about to put this up for sale on CL, but I discovered the Trem was not working. Now the amp really seems OK, with new glass it is ready to go.
Thought I would ask $550.00 obo for the head. Will be a good amp for somebody out there.
The SLO and Dumble guys would kill for the iron in this head.
Thanks once again for the help guys.
            I Really Do Appreciate It.

              Glad the amp is working.
So what was the deal with the V3 voltage reading where you reported "Pin 2 and 7 read Negative 28 & 33 respectively, depending on the position of the foot switch." Did the voltage on the grids also read close to zero with the foot switch unplugged or plugged in and closed?

Oh, that is what you guys were talking about.
Yeah, I guess I forgot the other half of the story.
Depending on the position of the foot switch, the grids would read those negative voltages, or they would be zero.
                Sorry for the confusion.
If any of you guys live near me, and are curious, you are certainly welcome to plug into this beast......
                Thank You

Actually... You did mention that the grid voltage was footswitch dependant. Could be why it was ignored afterall. It just happens that the heaters were faulting when the switch was in the wrong (right?) position. Wierder coincidences have happened.

                    Well, Trem did write:
Pin 2 and 7 read Negative 28 & 33 respectively, depending on the position of the foot switch.
which although not very clear anyway, basically can be read as: "depending on the footswitch position voltage alternates between -28 and -33V.
Any of which is a tube muter and then some.
*Nowhere* says it goes to "0" volts, in any moment.

And in due justice, Loudthud was first by a country mile to jump at those weird voltages.

Well, anyway, "all is well that ends well"; that nice Traynor is working again.
                    That's what matters.
                    Enjoy it.
