  • AB763 noise woes

Barely audible above the sound of my punching myself in the throat over this, are a few interesting noises coming from my scratch build.

    It's basically a AB763 with single channel @ 40w - here are my issues:

    1. Very low level buzz becomes loud only when touching my guitar strings/metal hardware. If the amp's volume is around 12:00, it will squeal. When rolling the volume down on the guitar, barely any signal is passing through and a bassy type of feedback can be heard above the notes being played.

    2. Background hum - very low frequency can be heard in standby and it get's about 50% louder off of standby. I used the same grounding scheme for this amp as I did on my past 3 builds without issue.

My main issue is #1 -

Here are some photos of the build - most of this was in progress, so the bias circuit has been corrected and the missing 1M resistor on the input jack has been added, as well.

    Thanks!

Post a picture of the input jack(s).
WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.

This was taken before the 1M resistor was added.
