  • Weird Traynor thingy

    hey y'all.....
    Got a traynor YBA-1 MKII
I'm guessing this rectangular black thing floating around loose inside labelled 1KV33-27A27-Q is the diode protection thingy that's supposed to be between the output tube plates?

Some of the amps have it, some don't.
What do you think, should I put it back, assuming it is the dual diode thingy?

Yes that is the protection device. If it is not shorted or defective, might as well put it back in.

Edit: From the sounds of it, there should be 2 of those devices in the amp: http://music-electronics-forum.com/t14065/
So, if it is missing one anyway, probably best to leave them out.

      Thanks.
I searched for threads like the one you posted, must have missed it.
Funny, as one of the sockets did arc and burn up!
