  • Marshall SLP reissue 100w

    Hey

I have an Marshall SLP reissue, I have changed the main trafo, the old one was fried, all filter caps are changed. All the tubes are new, bias proper ajusted.

But i has a static rattle, when itīs on, with or without a guitar.

I have removed the bright cap, checked alt solder joints, grounding checked.

Has anyone an idea of what could be the problem?

    Rock On

Do ANY of the controls have ANY effect on the noise? If so, what?

Not real sure but having a new transformer, maybe you got a loose one. Transformers can rattle and buzz if they are not tight as a drum or have some voids in their potting. Try torquing down on the transformer mounts, tap it, wiggle it, squeeze it and see if you have any change.
... That's $1.00 for the chalk mark and $49,999.00 for knowing where to put it!

OK, so the controls have zero effect? None of them affect the amount of noise or its tone? Then with ALL the controls at ZERO, the noise remains?

If so, then the power ampo has the noise. So pull the phase inverter tube. Does the noise remain?
