This amp was built from Baldwin organ amplifier using the original transformers . Everything else is new in the amplifier. The amp has sounded thin from day one and the tone controls seem kind of funky.
Here is what I noticed . When I was doing a voltage reading in one of the 6l6 (pin 3 ) I got a squeal that would disappear when I messed with the to e controls . I also noticed that the voltage on pin 3 in that tube would drop when I messed with the tone controls and the voltage in the other tube would rise. I'm guessing this is creating havoc with the bias . No other voltages change on the power tubes when this happens just the pin 3 voltage.
Any ideas on what could be causing this issue? Parasitic osilation ? Lead dress?
I tried different power tubes and even swapped out the OP transformer.
Thanks
Keith
