I biased it earlier today and immediately got way more volume. It still sounds crappy and I have ordered enough caps to completely replace all the oil-filled caps in it. A new problem arose, in that I now get a high-pitched whistling sort-of sound, Reverb feedback maybe?? I will have to work on that too. It stops when I pull the PI so it is in the preamp.

Could be reverb squeal, then again it could be one of those 12AX&'s from the "pull pile".

I found the problem yesterday. My tin ear didn't recognize an "E" signal. The E tuner switch needed a small repair so when it says off it indeed is off. Now I need to await my cap order.

After waiting for two separate orders to arrive, I finally got back to this beauty. Everything but the tremolo works now. I have changed every oil filled (and probably dried out) cap in it and what a difference! Now I need to re-do the cab. A previous owner really tore it up. I am going to do a trainwreck type finish on it rather than try to recover it. Then it can sit in my music room and get used once in a while. I am finding you can't give away vintage tube amps around here. People want shiny new SS with DSP etc. I am running out of room but I don't wish to stop.
Thanks for all the help with this one.
