Bite the bullet....buy a Fluke. It'll be the last meter you'll buy.

I bought an almost brand new fluke 77 lV last week for $70 at a pawn shop.

I bought a fluke 77 lll a week earlier in good condition for $50 at another pawn shop.

I see them all the time for cheap AND in good working condition.

My dad's an electrician; had a number of multimeters. Gave me a Fluke 87 when I was just getting going on guitar pedals. I didn't know the value of it back then - I sure appreciate it now I tell you. Very nice multimeter to use.

As I posted earlier. I love my old B+K. But when the time comes I'll be replacing it with a Fluke. The New B+K stuff just doesn't look or read the same and I've developed a real taste for a reliable meter. I know that even a mid line Fluke will give me that at a reasonable price. Looking at all Fluke has to offer you'll see that it's entirely possible to spend $1000 on a DMM! Obviously, by the info in this post that isn't necessary.

            +1 on the Fluke
