    On a schematic , i have a resistor is labeled : 0R33

    Is that 33 ohms , or .33 ohms ?

  • #2
    The letter takes the place of the decimal point.

    0R33 = 0.33 ohms

    4k7 = 4.7k = 4700 ohms

    2M2 = 2 meg = 2,000,000 ohms
    Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

      Assuming it's a surface mount device, 0R33 would be 0.33 ohms. The R indicates the decimal point for resistor values below 10 ohms.

        It's a European thing.

        Enzo knows his stuff: Small typo 2M2 = 2,200,000 ohms
        Experience is something you get, just after you really needed it.

          Oh, uh, um... well I was trying to correct for the metric conversion factor along with the coreolis force, and um and um...

          OK, it was a mistake.

          Yes of course I meant to type 2M2 = 2.2meg = 2,200,000 ohms. I actually do know this. Thanks for catching the ball.
