  • Gibson GA50T tremolo

I was asked to get the tremolo working.
The amp is full of very old caps, wax covered papers. And I was asked to keep it as original as possible.
How many times have I heard that?
THe .25s that are on either end of the triple gang pot, speed control, are in large metal cans all connected with shielded cable.
I measuring from the last node of the power supply into the tremolo circuit 100v. On the plates of V7 there's only 5v.
The plate resistors measure about 55k each. Is it the socket?
Does anyone have any experience with this amp?

edit: found the 40uf in the supply was shorted. Now there's 93v on the plates. still no trem.

Got it working. Changed out the .1 caps and one of the .25s, left the ones in that are in the big metal cases and it works.

Tremelo problems usually are caused by the tremelo LF circuit caps, if not the tube.
Glad that you solved the riddle.
