  • Vibro Champ Indicator Lamp Wiring

Just finished replacing electrolytics and a three prong power cord upgrade using twisted heater pair with 100 ohm resistors to chassis ground.

Everything works fine and the amp is quiet, but does anyone have a creative way to rewire the stock indicator lamp?

one end of the 6.3V wind to one lamp terminal and the other end of the 6.3V wind to the other lamp terminal. It's still a 6.3V lamp. The last VC I changed to a twisted pair had the two 100R resistors on the lamp socket with their junction wired to the top of the 6V6 cathode resistor for a little DC elevation as well. Zero hum.

It was wired with a single lead and I didn't realize both sides of the lamp were isolated from the lamp frame until I spotted the base terminal secured to the frame covered under solder. Unfortunately I found it after posting.

      Thanks Chuck.
